Summer Time!
Welcome to The Teen Center Summer! All of our summer programming is offered as ‘pay-what-you-can,’ which includes zero cost for those who need it. Teens entering grades 7-12, who are 12+ years of age, are welcome to attend.
We are so excited to provide fun and enriching activities to teens this summer. We hope you join us!
Camping Week: For camping week, we’re going to stay at the Branbury State Park for 2 days, which is within walking distance to Lake Dunmore, so prepare for a swim! Activities will include learning how to set up a tent, learning how to cook on an open fire and fishing. We have camping gear and fishing rods but feel free to bring your own!
Church Street Field Trip: In an effort to teach the young’ins some stuff about public transportation, we’re gonna take a bus ride up to Burlington to Church Street and walk around the shops, maybe catch a street performer doing their thing.
Bowlerama: Join us to the bowling alley! Line up and knock down some pins. We’ll provide food and drink while at the alley, and we’ll leave by bus at 10am and be back around 5:30.
Sewing Camp: No experience required! Come to The Teen Center and learn to sew with different small projects to build skills and prepare you to follow your own patterns! Camp starts at 10 and goes till 3.
Shelburne Museum: The Shelburne Museum has some outstanding exhibits, including a whole collection of horse-drawn carriages and a BOAT in a LAKE you can walk on. It's 45 acres of what they call “a collection of collections.”
SJC: What: Youth will have the opportunity to learn about topics relating to social justice through workshops, field trips, and prominent guest speakers. We will spend each day on a different topic; examples of previous topics from Addison County Summer Social Justice Camp 2025 are LGBTQIA+ rights, anti-racism, and youth advocacy. Attendees of the camp not only learn and discuss these issues, they will also build skills to bring about change. Camp includes games, art, food, and learning about each other through storytelling. Throughout the week, we will collaborate on organizing and planning a youth-led Town Hall event at Town Hall Theater in Middlebury. Guests include Vermont Secretary of State Copeland Hanzas and additional speakers to be announced. I hope that you will join us this August for this joyful, youth-led experience! Camp starts at 1 and goes until 4, if your child arrives at 12 they will be provided with lunch.
Camp is pay-what-you-can. This means no matter what you're able to pay, whether it's zero, the standard camp fee, or you're able to cover the cost of another camper's time with us, your teen will attend camp.
**Please note that registering your teen does not confirm their spot in that camp, trip, or activity. We will email you a confirmation, which will also include a camper waiver and the health waiver. These waivers can also be found below. Teens who have not returned their waivers by the week (7 days) before camp starts may lose their place in camp.
